Netflix followers go wild over ‘wonderful’ drama and say ‘I hope it will get revived for an additional collection’

Netflix viewers are buzzing over The Resident, a six-season medical drama that’s quickly becoming a fan favourite among binge-watchers – with many new viewers claiming they are ‘hooked’ as they beg for a revival.

Originally airing from 2018 to 2023, the show follows the lives of the medical team at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital, diving into their on-the-job crisis’s, tangled love lives, and moral conflicts.

At the heart of the series is Dr. Conrad Hawkins, played by Matt Czuchry, a charming yet rebellious senior resident who knows exactly how to bend the hospital rules.

Paired with nervous new resident Dr. Devon Pravesh (Manish Dayal), the show draws viewers into a world where every diagnosis, procedure, and emergency holds the potential for life-changing outcomes.

The series, created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi, has earned a respectable 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The medical drama is also being widely compared to Grey’s Anatomy, the longstanding medical drama that’s spanned 21 seasons.

In popular discussion groups, such as Netflix Bangers on Facebook, viewers are eagerly sharing their newfound love for The Resident.

When one fan posted asking for feedback on the show, over 200 fans flooded the comments.

One person responded, ‘Yes I’m hooked. on season 3 now,’ while another raved, ‘Excellent show!’

A third chimed, ‘So good!!! I was a huge Grey’s fan, until this!!’ while a fourth said, ‘My all time fave series sad it’s over really but would watch it a million times over.’

Another commented: ‘Loved it!! So sad that it doesn’t have more seasons.’

A final fan gushed: ‘Awesome series wish they would make another.’

However, for some, the show’s repetitive medical cases and high drama felt predictable by the fourth season.

One wrote: ‘Good for 4 seasons then starts to seem redundant. Same pattern: ER emergency-2 doctors diagnosis conflict-rare illness- emergency surgery- surgical botched/ complications- patient recovers.’

Meanwhile, Netflix fans have said that they’ve been ‘gripped from start to finish’ by a British horror series with a twisted ending.

The viewers have urged ‘everyone to immediately’ watch The Burning Girls which first aired on Paramount+ last year and is based on the 2021 novel by CJ Tudor.

The series follows a reverend and her daughter who start a new life in a village that soon reveals its community’s dark history.

It stars Samantha Morton and Ruby Stokes and has become a fan favourite with viewers now that it has been moved to Netflix.
