Paraglider leaves Brit teen combating for all times after smashing into her throughout household meal
A mother was left fearing for her teenage daughter’s life when a paraglider crash-landed into the young girl during a family meal on their holiday in Turkey.
Lily Nichol, 15, is now battling for survival in hospital following the freak accident that occurred on the final day of their holiday. The teen sustained critical injuries, including a brain haemorrhage, a fractured jaw, and a potentially broken back, with further surgeries scheduled. The girl’s mother Lyndsey has set up a GoFundMe page to cover the mounting medical costs, as the family travelled without insurance.
The campaign has already seen about 400 donors contribute over £5,000. In a heartfelt plea on the fundraising site, Lyndsey shared: “I’m in desperate need of help. I’m on a family holiday today with my two daughters, we were meant to fly home back to Newcastle today.
“We decided to go out for a nice last meal during which my 15 year old daughter has been in a really bad accident by a man paragliding. He’s landed on her while we were sat at our table. She is in intensive care with a broken jaw broken ribs, bleed on brain and possibly a broken back.”
She added: “Stupid me forgot to take out holiday insurance. So far the hospital bill is £7,000, that’s only for today’s treatment. She needs an operation on her jaw which is more money.”
“Me and my daughter are having to pay for hotels, taxis to and from hospital. Please even £1, I’m a desperate mam. I cant loose my little girl she had a stroke and was unconscious during this trauma my baby girl is in a bad way. I just want to get her home.”
Speaking to the Sun, Lynsey said: “I thought she was dead, I thought she was dead, I was screaming I was like where’s the ambulance and I was like ‘Lily keep talking to us, keep talking to us’.
“I just remember Lily eating, biting into a slice of pizza and this paraglider just came from nowhere and just totally wiped her out over the table.”
“She face-planted the table and we tried to get her up. Obviously she was unconscious and she had a stroke while she was down. I thought she was dead.”
