Kidnap probe as lady ‘chased down avenue and bundled into automobile’

Police have launched an urgent appeal after a teenage girl was chased down the street and bundled into a car.

The teen has been described as being around 5ft 5in, and was witnessed by members of the public in Wincanton, Somerset being followed down the road before being forced into a car.

The driver of the vehicle is understood to have got out of the car and chased the girl on foot before she was put into the car. Avon and Somerset Police described the driver of the car as white, aged in his early 20’s, of medium build, with light brown hair and as being slightly taller than the girl. Officer also said the incident occoured at The Batch and Shadwell Lane.

Neighbourhood Inspector Rose Green said of the shocking incident: “This will understandably cause significant concern and a thorough investigation is already well underway to fully establish the circumstances and ensure the girl is safe.”

Police having already viewed CCTV footage in the area. The car in question is understood to be a dark-coloured five door hatchback.

Police arenow asking anyone with information to come forward.
