Boxing followers reckon they already know the end result of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s bout

Boxing fans are backing ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson to take down Jake Paul when the two face off at AT&T Stadium.

After eight months of intense build-up, both Tyson and Paul will enter the ring in the early hours of Saturday morning. Sparks flew even higher during their pre-bout face-off when Tyson appeared to slap Paul, reportedly after his toe was stepped on.

Despite Paul being tipped as the favourite, there has been a noticeable shift towards Tyson with punters seemingly convinced by the resurgence of ‘Iron Mike’ who will be fighting before an expected crowd of 75,000 tonight. Results from the Mirror’s very own reader poll, which drew thousands of votes concerning the fights outcome, indicate a clear fan favourite.

An overwhelming 72 per cent of fans see Tyson turning back time to deliver a knockout blow to Paul in the early UK morning hours, and another eight per cent envisage a victory for the legendary boxer through points.

The stats show only nine per cent of followers are betting on Paul to halt Tyson despite the significant age difference, whereas six per cent predict that the influencer will secure victory by judge’s decision after 16 minutes in the ring. Notably, five per cent foresee a controversial draw, likely setting the stage for a re-match, reports the Mirror.

Mike Tyson slaps Jake Paul

Paul, known for never holding back his thoughts, reacted to these predictions by starkly stating that he’s prepared to “kill” Tyson, particularly after their fiery clash during the pre-fight face-off. Following the slap, Paul commented: “I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap.”

The 27-year-old then unleashed a tirade of expletives, vowing to defeat Iron Mike in their impending bout. “It’s personal now,” Paul declared, before roaring into the microphone: “He must die.”

The fight between Tyson and Paul will be conducted under a modified rule-set, consisting of eight two-minute rounds. The fighters will also sport 14oz gloves instead of the usual 10oz gloves worn by heavyweights. If the match extends to its full length, three ringside judges will score the fight. The referee will be Mark Calo-oy, who officiated Paul’s victory over Nate Diaz last year.

In that match, Paul floored the UFC legend on his way to a comprehensive points decision.
