Princess Anne ‘made withering Meghan Markle abstract moments after assembly her’
According to one expert, Princess Anne had always suspected that Meghan Markle‘s tenure in the Royal Family would be brief. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relocated to California in 2020, seeking a different environment for their children.
Since their departure from the monarchy four years ago, the couple has publicly criticised the royals on numerous occasions, levelling serious accusations against them through various media outlets – including Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’, their Netflix documentary titled ‘Harry and Meghan’, and their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Royal commentator Neil Sean suggests that Princess Anne quickly recognised that Meghan might struggle to adapt after advising her to view her Royal role as a “job” rather than a celebrity status.
As previously reported, Anne, known for her dedication and hard work as a royal, was reportedly offering Meghan advice on how to best approach her role as Harry’s wife, according to Neil.
However, he claimed that an insider told him that Meghan “left the meeting dumbfounded”, stating: “According to a very good source Meghan Markle failed to warm to Princess Anne, and Princess Anne always knew that Meghan would have a very short shelf-life in the world of the British monarchy.”
On his YouTube channel, Neil said: “This senior royal takes no nonsense, much like her father the late Duke of Edinburgh. Apparently, when Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family, she sought out Princess Anne. According to a very good source, Princess Anne gave very sage advice to the new royal.
“Princess Anne reiterated this mantra, she pointed out that it wasn’t a working monarchy, it was a job, you turn up on time, you do your research and do the duty,” reports the Daily Record.
He added: “It’s all about the project at hand. She also pointed out that whatever charities you are involved in, you needed to get involved and get immersed.”
However, Neil reckons Meghan didn’t quite take this on board, as during her stint as patron of the National Theatre, she “did not get too involved.”
Meanwhile, Princess Anne has been smashing her royal responsibilities, leading the charge at many major events. When King Charles and Queen Camilla had their Coronation, Anne was named the King’s “official bodyguard” in a nod to her decades of unwavering commitment.
She rocked the procession as the “Gold-Stick-in-Waiting,” which is basically the person tasked with looking after the monarch’s safety. Get in on the gossip by joining the Daily Record’s WhatsApp group here for all the latest chinwag sent straight to your blower.
This juicy bit follows the drama that unfolded when Meghan Markle reportedly went into ‘hysterics’ after ‘defying’ Prince Harry’s strict interview guidelines, during a chinwag with Vanity Fair back in 2017.
Prince Harry reportedly cautioned Meghan Markle against discussing certain hot-button issues in an interview, including Donald Trump, race, and details of their romance. Royal biographer Tom Bower, author of “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors,” revealed: “Knowing that Diana and Sarah Ferguson had ruined their reputations in interviews, Harry had asked Meghan to keep quiet about sensitive subjects – Donald Trump, race, their relationship and especially himself. He was not to be mentioned.”
Despite this, Meghan’s Vanity Fair cover story defied Harry’s request with the headline “She’s Just Wild About Harry”.
