The seven sitcoms hailed as ‘excellent 10 out of 10 exhibits’ by viewers – and methods to watch them

Sitcom fanatics have compiled a list of ‘perfect 10 out of 10 shows’ with something to please everyone.

A Reddit user asked other sitcom lovers: ‘What’s a sitcom that started as a 10, stayed a 10, and ended as a 10?

They added: ‘What’s a sitcom that started off strong, stayed consistently great throughout, and then ended on a high note without losing its charm? Like, no drop in quality, no rushed endings – just a perfect run from start to finish.’

Submissions came flying in and intense discussion began until they agreed on a definitive list of perfect sitcoms. But do you agree with their choices?

Malcom in the Middle

Malcom in the Middle dominated TV screens in the 2000s and captivated the millennial and early Gen Z youth.

Many of the Redditors agreed that it belongs on the list, with one declaring that ‘it’s even better’ rewatching it as an adult.

Frankie Muniz plays Malcom who is a young boy growing up in a chaotic family, with his three crazy brothers, lenient father Hal and strict mother Lois, played by Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.

One Redditor called it a ‘phenomenal show that never really had a bad season’, whilst another said it still makes them laugh every time they watch it.

You can fully immerse yourself in Y2K nostalgia with seven seasons and 151 episode in total.

Malcolm in the Middle is available to stream on Disney Plus.

Veep

Fans fell in love with Julia Louis-Dreyfus portrayal of fictional US Vice President Seline Meyer in this political satire.

Her performance was so stellar that it earned her six Emmy Awards in a row, which is enough on its own to justify why it is on the list.

The series ended five years ago but Redditors are still describing it as ‘possibly the best sitcom of all time’ with other shows unable to meet its razor sharp wit.

3rd Rock From The Sun

Schitt’s Creek

Since it began in 2015, Schitt’s Creek has become a cult classic with a loyal and diverse fan base who view it as a comfort show.

It revolves around a wealthy family with two entitled grown up children who are forced to live in a small town, which the father had previously bought his son as a funny birthday gift, after they lose their fortune.

You watch the characters grow and develop as the show plays out over six seasons and come to love the family you once thought were insufferable.

Fans tend to relate to one more than the others but the beauty of it is that there is something relatable in all of them.

While discussing its place on the list, one Redditor said: ‘I think Schitt’s Creek is the rare show that actually got better as it went along.’

The IT Crowd

Some of the UK’s biggest comedians made a name for themselves on the IT crowd, including Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson, Chris O’Dowd and Matt Berry.

The series began in 2006, running for four seasons before ending in 2010.

It follows two geeky IT technicians who work in the basement of an office building and are befriended by their new technophobic supervisor.

The unlikely trio get themselves into hilarious and outlandish situations which are only made funnier by their classic dry British humour.

The series also features their outlandish boss, played by Matt Berry, who quickly became a fan favourite for his theatrical and impulsive behaviour.

It was a seemingly unanimous vote to add this one to the list as Redditors agreed that they simply love it.

The Good Place

The audience watches Kristen Bell’s character Eleanor Shellstrop discover what happens when you die alongside co-stars Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper and Jameela Jamil.

The light-hearted comedy mixed with thought-provoking storylines earned this show a seriously loyal fan base who find it comforting and hopeful.
