Ring woman breaks silence on ‘overwhelming’ rise to fame in Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson battle
Ring girl Sydney Thomas has spoken out after her rapid rise to fame during Mike Tyson’s bout with Jake Paul.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer defeated the 58-year-old via unanimous decision during the early hours of Saturday morning. However, some boxing fans were too distracted by the blonde bombshell Sydney to really care about the fight.
Sydney, 20, took to TikTok to address the flood of attention she’s received: “Im happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!!” She captioned the post, with a crying laughing emoji and heart emoji added to the end.
During the fight viewers took to social media to hail Sydney as the “real winner” of the night, with one fan declaring: “Sydney Thomas, the real winner of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.
Another joked: “If the Paul vs Tyson fight buffered only while showing Sydney Thomas the fight wouldn’t have been so bad,” referencing the live streaming issues that plagued the event.
A third fan quipped: “My entire feed is Sydney Thomas content and honestly I’m down with it.” A fourth gushed: “Just watched the highlights of Mike Tyson destroying Jake Paul, it was crazy a fight but my winner is Sydney Thomas.”
Sydney is now set to shoot to stardom after her show-stopping appearance. Sydney is strutting her stuff as a Ring Girl for the second time, after she debuted at a scrap in Puerto Rico last month.
“Adding ‘ring girl’ to the resume,” she scribbled to her whopping 283,000 Instagram fans. “I had a blast getting in the ring for my first ever boxing event (and first time in Puerto Rico).”
She also expressed massive gratitude, saying, “I thank God every day for allowing me to be a part of such amazing opportunities and experiences. Truly feeling so blessed. See you next time for round two.”
