Lottery’s luckiest numbers revealed as specialists share how tips about how one can win
The chances of winning the lottery are said to be one in 45,057,474 – but it’s not completely unheard of.
Since the beginning of the National Lottery in 1994 by John Major, more than 7,400 people have become millionaires after choosing the right numbers for the draw. There are said to be ‘lucky’ numbers, which appear on average more than the others. Now, an expert has revealed them and given tips on how to win and make yourself a millionaire overnight.
Back in 2015, the number draw went from 49 to 59, meaning there’s the highest ever range to choose from. Players are actually more likely to be hit by lightning than they are winning the lottery, as being struck by a bolt is one in a million.
National Lottery say 49% of winners bagged their prize through lucky dips rather than choosing their own lucky numbers. Someone who has played each week for decades is more marginally likely to win, but each game is a coin toss and does not get affected by past numbers.
Adding to this, syndicates often win, with 20% of money won by the groups. In these groups, they cover all numbers to ensure a wider range. There is no evidence that a certain set of six numbers is more likely to come up.
According to the Daily Mail “in the last nine years, the numbers 37, 52 and 58 have come up most frequently (drawn between 113 and 115 times) while 30 and 18 have popped up only 84 and 86 times respectively”.
“This year, the most frequent main balls are 11 and 48 (both drawn 15 times) and the most frequent Bonus Balls are 17 and 28 (both drawn five times),” the publication added.
Some experts claim areas of the UK are more lucky than others. The highest number of wins came from the South East of England, with 975 people winning £1million or more.
However, this area is more populated than the North of England and Wales, which seem to fare better when taking that into consideration. Wales has had 389 winners of £1million plus. This adds up to 125 million lottery winners for every one million people. That is 0.01% of every one million people.
