Jadon Sancho informed he’s ‘falling again into his outdated Man Utd methods at Chelsea’

Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho has been accused of reverting to his old habits at Manchester United by ex-Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara.

Despite a promising start to his season-long loan at Stamford Bridge, Sancho has recently vanished from Enzo Maresca’s matchday squads, fuelling rumours of unrest. The 24-year-old’s struggles at United have been widely reported since his £72million move from Borussia Dortmund three years ago.

Chelsea provided a lifeline on transfer deadline day last summer, agreeing a loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent for £25million if they finish in the Premier League’s top 14 teams.

Sancho made an impact in his first three appearances for the Blues against Bournemouth, West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion, providing an assist in each game. However, he has faded from the spotlight following two disappointing performances against Nottingham Forest and Liverpool.

While Maresca has mentioned illness as a factor, O’Hara suspects that the issues that led to his downfall at Old Trafford could be resurfacing at Chelsea. “Jadon Sancho’s been given an opportunity at Chelsea to prove people wrong, but it hasn’t happened yet,” O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport.

“Manchester United spent a lot of money on him, and it didn’t work out, so he’s gone to Chelsea and showed signs of brilliance and confidence at the start, but he seems to have fallen back into his old ways since then,” reports the Express.

Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho may have patched things up during pre-season, but it was clear United didn’t have him in their plans. With players like Marcus Rashford and Antony taking precedent, Sancho found himself out of the pecking order and on his way out.

Even over at Chelsea, Sancho’s had a bit of a tussle trying to make his mark with the intense competition being a factor, as stated by O’Hara: “I think the problem with Sancho at Chelsea is that there are better players than him in that squad – Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke are more influential than him.”

O’Hara further advised, “He needs to try and produce moments when he gets the chance to impress, or he’ll stay where he is in the pecking order.”

He also noted, “It’s always going to be difficult when there’s a big group of attacking players in the same squad, but I think Enzo Maresca has worked out that Sancho isn’t as good as a lot of them.”

Snapped back at Chelsea training during the November international break, all eyes are on whether Sancho will get a look in for the upcoming Premier League showdown against Leicester City this Saturday.
