Man goes to bathroom in hospital then finally ends up dangling from emergency room ceiling
Cops were called to rescue a bloke from the ceiling of a hospital after he went to the toilet.
Officers with the Upland Police Department responded to a report of a person who had broken through the ceiling tiles in the emergency room at the San Antonio Regional Hospital around 9pm on Monday night. CCTV footage showed that the man had entered the restroom, and a spokesperson from the hospital told NBC Los Angeles that staff said the man then disappeared.
The man, suspected by police to be under the influence of drugs, caused £3,960 ($5,000) worth of damage to the ceiling, electrical system, and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) unit.

He seemed to be lodged atop a large HVAC unit and squeezed beneath a steel beam in total darkness.
Following his extraction from the ceiling, the man was then arrested for felony vandalism.
“We know he was able to make access to the ceiling space through a drop ceiling and was wedged in between the roofing materials and ducting space,” said Christopher Prater of the San Bernardino County Fire Department
“It’s not a typical call that we were on, but it sounds like after talking to the crews they were more there to provide some emotional support to this patient.
“They were able to convince him that everything was going to be ok and we were there to help him.”
In a post on social media, the police department said: “Due to the extremely confined space, maze of wires, plumbing, HVAC lines, etc., officers had to use a pole camera to look into the ceiling.
“Fortunately, the SARH ER staff are the best around and worked around this incident, preventing any interruptions to Emergency Room services.”
