Move over Elon Musk! Daily Star joins Bluesky as ‘Home of Fun’ takes over social media

The Daily Star has joined the ranks of the social media savvy by launching a Bluesky account. The social media site set up by ex-Twitter boss Jack Dorsey has become the new go to place for content after a mass exodus of the now-Elon Musk owned Twitter/X happened recently.

And jumping on the bandwagon, but doing it far better than everyone else, we launched our new account this week which can be found on https://bsky.app/profile/dailystar.co.uk.

Fear not, we’re not leaving Twitter/X, but we can be our true selves over on the app with the blue butterfly logo – and our links post correctly on there, compared to Twitter where they don’t after Musk got annoyed with “legacy media” and stopped link sharing from working properly.

We're everywhere . . .
We’re everywhere . . .

Anyway, our excellent team of crack social media experts have already set up what Bluesky calls a “Starter Pack” featuring most of the members of our top team, including diehard Wrexham fan and overall Daily Star leader Andy Gilpin, who will be posting pictures of the tattoo he got from a celebrity tattooist for a video on our TikTok channel. (Ed’s note: He won’t be!)

Or if you’re a gamer, our new gaming lead Lloyd Coombes is on there posting his latest Daily Star gaming exclusives, while our showbiz editor Jack Wetherill is also on there talking about Love Island, Strictly and everything in between.

Basically, there’s something for everyone on there, and it looks nicer than our content on Twitter. And who knows, if you’re nice to us then you might even get a response – something to cherish and tell your grandchildren about in the future.

If that wasn’t enough, we’re also still on Instagram, as well as taking over YouTube with longer-form content, and you can find us on Reddit where we’re quickly becoming the go to news outlet among the British media (no joke . . . look at us, we’re doing well).

So to sum up, we’re the “Home of Fun” and the home of the best content you’ll see on ALL social media.
