What a spot! Modern three-bedroom indifferent house hits the marketplace for £200,000 – nevertheless it has a VERY uncommon bathroom
An unassuming detached property has gone on the market for £200,000 on Rightmove – but images reveal a bizarre secret in its private quarters.
The downstairs loo in the three-bedroom home is covered in leopard-print wallpaper and features a framed portrait of legendary EastEnders character Pat Butcher.
Owner Gaz Davies chose the wallpaper last year and then discovered the £50 portrait of Pam St Clement’s character online.
The abstract art fan, 37, who works in TV filming, admitted he has never watched EastEnders and he and his wife Natasha, 30, avoid using the eccentric room.
Now, the home has been put on the market as the couple are looking to move to Australia and Gaz said interested buyers can keep the quirky bathroom decor.
Househunters who have already taken a look at the property were left stunned by the loo, but said it ‘made them smile’ and gave the room ‘personality’.
Gaz claims the home’s decor was even wackier before his wife told him to ‘rein it in’ and he decided on the leopard-print style for the loo and master bedroom.

Gaz, from South Kirkby, West Yorkshire, said: ‘I’m not a big fan of hers and I don’t watch the show but it’s just a quirky design.
‘When I bought the house I went wild because I’m into abstract art but my missus said I need to rein it in and make it more livable.
‘Because it wasn’t going to be used all of the time, I thought rather than a standard mirror I’d have a picture of someone in there.
‘I decided on the leopard print, then I thought about what photo would suit it so I was browsing websites and Pat Butcher popped up.
‘I thought, “I don’t mind her being in my downstairs toilet.”
‘If people don’t like it, It’s not hard to paper or paint over something and take a picture down but if people want to keep it they can have it.
‘I go in the en-suite and my wife goes into the bathroom upstairs, so she very rarely goes in there even if we’re downstairs watching the TV.

Black walls and fixtures adorn the open-plan living area downstairs but the upstairs remains light and less unorthodox
Gaz says he hopes to sell the three-bedroom home soon but if he can’t he’ll keep it and rent it out instead
‘We’d had eight people view it and nobody’s put an offer in so I was getting worried but they’re all legitimate reasons and nobody’s complained about the bathroom yet.’

An estate agent at Rook Matthews Sayer said: ‘The whole property is a bit quirky.
‘It’s some people’s taste and for others I think it’s a bit too much in your face.
‘I think it’s cracking and a well-decorated property.
‘We had a few viewings so far but no offers yet.’
The listing earned almost 700 likes on social media from baffled users.
One user commented: ‘I actually don’t hate this! They’ve got a look and have stuck to it. Having Pat Butcher in there means they’re very aware of what they’re doing but are going for it anyway.’
‘So much better than the standard “greige” slop you see everywhere else.’
A second said: ‘I’m kind of expecting people will react one of two ways. There’s definitely no “in between” with this!’
‘I can dig it. Put a smile on my face anyways.’
A third joked: ‘I can only hope there’s a Bet Lynch garden bar.’
A fourth added: ‘I really like it. It’s nice to see some personality.’
