Ruth Langsford has furiously hit back at trolls who criticised her for advertising expensive foods for Christmas.
The Loose Women star, 64, took to Instagram on Tuesday for a post in collaboration with Tesco as she built her own deli board for the festive period.
Including cheeses, quiche, olives and meats, the TV presenter explained all the items were from the Tesco Finest range of the mainstream supermarket.
However, one fan in particular took offence at the promotion post as they penned: ‘Do you ever think of the homeless while advertising expensive food and clothes.’
Hitting back at the accusatory comment, Ruth proved she isn’t afraid to speak her mind as she insisted she ‘would not be shamed’.
She replied: ‘You have no idea what I do for, or contribute to, charities so if you’re trying to shame me it won’t work!’

Fans were quick to support the star as they commented: ‘Well said!’; ‘Good for you they would be best to unfollow you if it upsets them so much’;
‘Same for us all, why should we justify what we do. Keep going Ruth. Love following’;
‘What a ridiculously ill-informed comment’; ‘You tell them ruthie’; ‘they need to be called out now! Enough is enough’.
Meanwhile Tesco added: ‘We love this, Ruth! Hope you and your friends enjoyed!’
Showing the finished result of the platter board, she said: ‘Who else is OBSESSED with platter boards?! I’ve tried making them for the first time and, if I say so myself, I’m pretty pleased with the results! I used lots of lovely bits and pieces from the Tesco Finest Deli range.
‘The best part? It’s all easy to find in store at the Tesco Deli, and there’s a 3 for 2 offer with your Clubcard!’
Other negative comments included: ‘Omg Have you got nothing more to do Ruth.’
Another took issue with her not shopping locally as they asked: ‘Why are you not buying local produce? Ah! I see! You were paid 4 figures to promote a stomach churning profit making supermarket in a COL crisis! Who is advising you Ruth? And where is your empathy brain cell right now! You’re gone girl!’
Meanwhile, it was revealed last week that Ruth is set to travel to Australia later this month to appear on I’m A Celeb spin-off show Unpacked, as she navigates the fallout from her split with husband Eamonn Holmes.
She will join the program to support her Loose Women colleague Jane Moore, 62, who is a contestant in this year’s ITV series.

The trip comes as Eamonn, also 64, has been seen publicly with his new partner, Katie Alexander, 43, while Ruth showcased a fresh look with blonde hair extensions.
A source revealed to The Sun that the opportunity to join the spin-off show had been a welcome distraction for Ruth during a challenging year.
They said: ‘It’s been a tough year for Ruth and she’s been putting her best foot forward. She’s thrilled to have been asked to appear on this the spin-off show and fly to Australia ahead of Christmas.
The insider added that Ruth is eager to support Jane, saying: ‘She’s rooting for Jane and can’t wait to give her opinion on how she is getting on.
‘The production team are particularly excited they have landed Ruth to join them as they think she’ll be amazing and give the new format a boost.’
