When is Conor McGregor combating subsequent? Everything we find out about UFC star’s future
Daily Star takes a look at what the future may hold for Conor McGregor, as he lost his case after being accused of rape.
Nikita Hand was awarded almost €250,000 (£210,000) in damages after McGregor was found guilty of assaulting the 35-year-old, who accused the MMA fighter of raping her at the Beacon Hotel in Dublin in 2018.
The jury, eight women and four men, at Dublin’s High Court took just over six hours to find McGregor guilty of assault.
While the sportsman left the court without comment, Ms Hand said that she was “overwhelmed by the support” she had received.

Later, McGregor took to X to express his disappointment over the verdict, and to announce he was appealing the decision.
He said: “The judge’s instruction and the modest award given was for assault, not for aggravated or exemplary damages.
“I am disappointed that the jury did not hear all the evidence that the DPP reviewed. I am with my family now, focused on my future. Thank you to all my support worldwide.”
So what does this future look like for the scandalous sportsman, now that his guilty verdict casts a shadow over it?
McGregor and the CEO of UFC Dana White have both said the 36-year-old will return to the Octagon next year. That said, no date or opponent has been confirmed, after McGregor’s fight against Michael Chandler was called off over a broken toe.
Speaking to DAZN at Wembley Stadium, McGregor revealed he was aiming for two fights next year. He said: “My job is to go to the gym and be in shape, whenever it is and wherever it is. I will be 100% ready.
“I must get two fights in 2025. It’s the promised land. Who knows (who the next opponent will be). It does not matter. Whoever, let’s see. I’d like it to be Chandler. I wish him well and see where it goes.”
UFC CEO Dana White reveals he believes the Irishman is looking at a late 2025 return.
He said: “Conor is going to come back late ’25′. There is no doubt Conor wants to fight. He hits me up all the time.
“I told you guys he probably wasn’t going to fight in 2024 and he didn’t. He’s going to fight in 2025, probably at the end of the year, if it is earlier that is good for all of us.”
