‘Eddie Hearn is aware of the struggle I wish to make subsequent – we’re prepared and ready’
Chantelle Cameron is ready and waiting for the trilogy clash with Katie Taylor.
There’s no fight out there which makes more sense than a clash with Cameron for the Irish fighter. I’ve seen plenty of talk this week about a third bout with Amanda Serrano after their thrilling fight last week in Dallas.
But Taylor is 2-0 against the Puerto Rican – why would they have a third showdown? Queensberry star Cameron is the only woman to have a win over Taylor in the paid ranks.

Chantelle went to Dublin and put her light-welterweight titles on the line against the Irish superstar. She came out on top against the odds and then went back as the undisputed champion for a rematch.
That’s what you call bravery. Taylor won the second clash so they’re locked at 1-1. Both fights were thrillers and everybody would want to see it again. Now I’m on good terms with Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn it should be an easy fight to make. The phone is on and we’re ready and waiting.

Chantelle is mandatory challenger for the WBC title which Taylor holds so we will be pushing for that fight it they don’t come to the negotiating table. There are no stumbling blocks. We will even be on the same broadcaster from next April.
Taylor’s win over Serrano was on the same card as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson last weekend at the AT&T Stadium. I’ve been chuckling at the fallout from that fight. Did people really tune in thinking a 58-year-old Tyson was going to look like his best from the 1980s?
What did people expect to happen? There’s a reason why your football team doesn’t have anyone in their 50s playing for them. As I wrote in this column before the fight, it is not boxing in the sense of sport. It’s a show.
I’m not knocking Jake Paul for it. He’s cashing in and doing well at that. But if you got yourself up in the early hours expecting Tyson to roll back the years then you don’t understand the ageing process.
