Man Utd followers discover small Ruben Amorim motion ‘that just one different supervisor does’
Manchester United fans noticed a small detail about Ruben Amorim during their clash with Ipswich Town.
Amorim, 39, took charge of his first Red Devils game on Sunday afternoon (November 24) as United travelled to Ipswich – emerging with a 1-1 draw. But as Marcus Rashford’s early strike was cancelled out by Omari Hutchinson, United fans noticed Amorim’s position on the touchline.
Manchester Evening News journalist Steven Railsdon noted Amorim had been crouching down on touchline: “Ruben Amorim loves watching from ground level. Keeps crouching down and jumping to his feet when he spots something…”

And one fan responded: “He looks like [Marcelo] Bielsa!” El Loco, as he was affectionately called, famously watches on from a bucket on the sidelines – or squats if he decides to leave it.

On a BBC documentary that aired in 2020, Guillem Balague claimed Bielsa’s bucket was inspired by a better view of the game.
“If we try to just win games and don’t risk nothing in this moment, I guarantee next year at the same stage we will have the same problems,” Amorim told Sky Sports after the full-time whistle. “We have to address the new idea and try to be better!”
He added: “This week I spoke more to the media than I did in four years at Sporting. I just want to work with my players. Nothing more. My players were thinking too much in the game. You could feel it.”
