Snow turns UK climate maps purple with actual areas to be hit this week revealed
The UK is bracing for another cold snap next week following the aftermath of Storm Bert. Northern regions expected to see more snowfall on this side of December.
The country is set to experience a return of wintry weather after enduring strong winds and rain over the weekend. WXCharts’ forecasts have identified the specific areas that could be hit by freezing temperatures and snowfall in the upcoming week.
Weather maps indicate that temperatures will start to fall across the UK on Tuesday night, fluctuating between 0C and single digits in the subsequent days.

The chilliest period will be in areas of Scotland near Inverness on Thursday, November 28, with a drop to a maximum of 10C. Most of Scotland is forecasted to experience some snow earlier in the week, with depths of around 1cm in Inverness, Aberdeen and southeast regions including Edinburgh.

Parts of the Scottish Highlands will also see snow depths of up to 10cm on Monday and Tuesday and temperatures of around -5C. Northern England, including Carlisle and Newcastle, could also witness a light dusting on Wednesday and Thursday, largely replaced by rain sweeping across the region from Friday night.
The latest icy blast is not anticipated to affect southern parts of the country, but mercury levels could hover around 4C late next week with highs of 7C or 8C, setting the stage for a chilly December, reports the Express.
Following Storm Bert, which delivered over 80% of November’s average monthly rainfall in less than two days this week, the UK has been left reeling. The Met Office issued a fourth wind warning on Sunday morning, affecting central and eastern parts of England until 9pm.
Over 250 flood alerts were activated across England, Wales and Scotland as the storm hit on Saturday, causing widespread travel chaos due to strong winds. The Met Office’s five-day forecast predicts persistent, heavy rain moving southwards across the UK with drier spells elsewhere.
Heavy wind in the north and thundery showers in western England are also expected. Frequent wintry showers in the northwest, with occasional sunny spells.
