Center Parcs Whinfell Forest is evacuated after ‘safety incident’ with workers at vacation park seen ‘panicking’

Center Parcs in Whinfell Forest has been evacuated following a ‘security incident.’

Eyewitnesses at the resort in Cumbria claimed to have seen staff ‘running around panicking.’

In one video shared on social media, the alarm can be heard playing over the speakers after the electricity went out and the emergency lighting came on with guests sat at their tables looking confused at what is happening.

The video, posted by a YappApp reporter on X, said: ‘An evacuation message was played over the speakers, all the electricity went out and the emergency lighting turned on.

‘Staff then rushed everyone out of the building. A staff member has told me ‘it is not a fire’ but ‘a security incident’.

It is understood that a power outage in nearby Penrith caused the evacuation.
