Conor McGregor’s drinks pulled from UK grocery store after civil sexual assault trial
Conor McGregor’s drink brands have been pulled from major UK supermarket shelves after he lost a civil rape case. The 36-year-old UFC star was found guilty of assaulting Nikita Hand and ordered to pay her more than £200,000 after she accused him or raping her.
The UFC star, who vehemently denied the accusations and stated his plans to appeal the decision, had been the face of both Proper Twelve and Irish Forged Stout. Since the Dublin High Court ruling, the owners of Proper Twelve whiskey have cut ties with its founder McGregor and retailers have pulled their stock of both the MMA superstar’s tipples.
McGregor made more than £100million in the sale of his Proper Twelve whiskey to Proximo back in 2021, and more recently launched Forged Irish Stout. Proximo revealed they won’t use McGregor to promote the whiskey brand, writing: “Going forward, we do not plan to use Mr McGregor’s name and likeness in the marketing of the brand”.

A Tesco spokesperson told MailOnline: “We can confirm that we are removing Proper No 12 Whiskey from sale in Tesco stores and online.” An Asda spokesperson said: “I can confirm that we have removed Forged Irish Stout from sale in store and online and have made the supplier aware of this decision.”
It is understood Ocado will also drop both alcoholic beverages affiliated with McGregor from their delivery service. The news of UK retailers dropping McGregor’s drinks follows Irish distributors choosing not to stock his brands.
It comes as McGregor’s fiancee Dee Devlin slammed the victim of the case in a series of angry Instagram posts. Speaking in defence of her partner, who by his own admission has cheated on her, Ms Devlin expressed her solidarity with McGregor and launched into a furious rant against his victim.
Posting a family snap of herself with two of their four children, Ms Devlin said: “I love him I trust him and I BELIEVE HIM!”
She added: “Conor and I dealt with these issues privately many years ago, as should be done in a relationship and we have come out stronger than ever. We have four beautiful children now whose smiling faces and happy hearts are a testament to who he is and who we are!”
She also made a series of astonishing allegations against her husband’s victim Ms Hand, before adding: “My sons will be warned women like you exist in the world.”
Conor McGregor previously drew global controversy when footage of him punching a middle-aged man who refused to drink a glass of his Proper Twelve whiskey in August 2019 was revealed. The UFC star was convicted of assault following the incident in the Marble Arch pub in south Dublin.
After the altercation, McGregor is understood to have “ripped off his top and flexed his muscles”. He then went on to buy the pub and ban the man who he punched from entering the premises.
