Former Chancellor George Osborne to share file £70m payout from his funding banking job
Former Chancellor George Osborne will share a record £70million payout from his investment banking job.
Osborne, who left government in 2016, had a bumper pay day for the third year in a row at Mayfair firm Robey Warshaw, which he joined in 2021. It boosted turnover to £85.3million in the year to March 31.
Some £69.9million is eligible to be split between Osborne and three other founding partners, Sir Simon Robey, Simon Warshaw and Philip Apostolides.
The firm does not pay its partners a salary but gives them a share of profits. Robey pocketed £40.5million, leaving £30million to be split between the other three partners. The £70million was more than double the £28million handed out in 2023.
