Putin’s mass manufacturing of Russia’s new Oreshnik missile has began as WW3 fears rise
Russian president Vladimir Putin has claimed that mass production of Russia’s feared Oreshnik ballistic missiles has begun.
Giving a public address this morning reported by Russian new agencies TASS and RIA he said: “Serial production of the Oreshnik has begun, but ultimately the means of destruction will be selected by us depending on the nature of the selected targets for destruction and the threats created for the Russian Federation.”
And, he went on: “According to military and technical experts, in the case of a massive, group use of these missiles, that is, several missiles at once, in a cluster, in one strike, its power will be comparable to the use of nuclear weapons. Although the Oreshnik, of course, is not a weapon of mass destruction.”

During the speech, given at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, he also claimed that Russia launched 90 missiles and 100 drones at Ukraine overnight. “Tonight we carried out a comprehensive strike using 90 missiles of similar classes and 100 drones. We hit 17 targets: military facilities, defense industry facilities and their support system,” he said.
The Oreshnik claims come days after a Kremlin mouthpiece warned that Vladimir Putin has far worse weapons than his new Oreshnik missiles. State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman – one of Putin’s closest allies and biggest mouthpieces – claimed that other things Putin has could make the Oreshnik look like a “flower”.
He said, when speaking to Kremlin-backed Russian media outlet Moskovskij Komsomolets: “ Russia has other weapons in its arsenal, compared to which the formidable Oreshnik, against which NATO air defense is powerless, may seem like a flower. We probably have many other types of new weapons, but, naturally, the enemy should not know about them yet.
“However, we are not the only ones developing them. Everyone who has the resources for this is developing new formidable weapons. I think we will surprise them more than once, although they also surprise us from time to time. They have as much money as a fool has tobacco.”
Although their expenses for the development and production of military equipment of comparable capabilities are tens of times higher than our expenses. But they hope to throw money at us.”
