Tesco reveals Christmas opening occasions as shops to shut over festive interval

A major UK supermarket has revealed it’s Christmas period opening and closing times – with staff getting just one day off. Following on from Aldi and Waitrose confirming they’re shutting for three days over the holiday season, Tesco’s bosses have told the Daily Star that only one day of the period will see all stores shuttered.

Although some larger stores will be extending their opening hours in the week before Christmas, with petrol station hours also varying around the country, it appears as though they will be remaining open as long as possible, with a return to action quicker than most other competitors confirmed, too.

All stores and petrol fillings stations will be closed Christmas Day, having closed at 7pm the night before – with Express stores closing by 10pm – and many will return to action at 9am on Boxing Day.
