Police launch manhunt after mom was sexually assaulted whereas taking part in along with her kids in a London park

Police have released an e-fit image of a man wanted for questioning after a mother was sexually assaulted in a park in south-west London while playing with her two young children.

The suspect, who was described as about 6ft tall and of slim build, approached the woman in Morden Recreation Park in the London borough of Merton on the afternoon of Sunday 20 October.

After speaking briefly to the woman, he assaulted her before making off in the direction of nearby Canterbury Road.

Police were called to the scene at around 2.20pm.

‘We know this assault will cause a lot of worry in the local community, especially as this woman was playing with her children at the time’, said Detective Constable Tom Green of the local policing team.

‘I would ask you to take a close look at the e-fit. Do you recognise him, or the clothing that he was wearing? It is vital that we identify him.

‘If you have any concerns, please speak with officers.’

The man, in his late teens, wore a burgundy hoodie with white writing on it, blue tracksuit trousers and black trainers.
