Scumbag kills loving father at pub leaving 5 children with out a dad this Christmas
A dad-of-five tragically lost his life in a brutal pub garden assault after a verbal spat escalated, a court heard.
Carl James, 42, was on the receiving end of punches and a headbutt from Curtis Tudor, 26, who delivered “a right hook” to his victim as he lay on the ground on May 11.
Tudor was dragged away from Mr James by other punters as they attempted to give first aid at the Jack and Jill pub in Berwick Hills, Middlesbrough. Tudor was overheard saying: “F*** this, I’m going.”
Paramedics arrived shortly after at about 6pm, but Mr James sadly died three days later at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough due to a brain haemorrhage sustained during the attack.

Tudor, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter at an earlier hearing, showed up at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday.
The courtroom witnessed heart-wrenching moments as Mr Jones’ brother, Anthony, spoke tearfully about the five children left behind; mentioning how Carl’s youngest won’t be experiencing a trip to Lapland this Christmas. Anthony shared that one of Carl’s sons had called his father “the best man who walked the Earth.”
He also mentioned that Carl was lovingly nicknamed ‘Frank’ or ‘Frankie’ because he used to dress as Frankenstein during his childhood for float day at Pallister Park community centre.
Anthony, overcome with emotion, revealed to the court: “Carl was a much-loved member of a large family. He was very loving and not afraid to show it,” adding through tears, “He’d do anything for anyone – he had a heart of gold.”
As Carl’s relatives looked on from the public gallery, defence lawyer Dan Cordey highlighted Tudor’s sorrow, asserting, “there is a significant gap between Mr Tudor’s intentions and the consequences of his actions.”
The court saw Tudor being taken back into custody, with sentencing set for Friday, November 29.
