Author of anti-Israel ebook Biden purchased has searing four-word response
The author of the anti-Israel book purchased by Joe Biden has criticized the president for his ‘too little too late’ purchase at a local bookshop.
The lame-duck president made headlines on Black Friday during a shopping trip at Nantucket Bookworks, holding a copy of The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonial Conquest and Resistance, 1917-2017.
The book, by Columbia University professor emeritus Rashid Khalidi, was visible to the press as Biden left the store. Khalidi later remarked to the New York Post that Biden’s interest came ‘four years too late.’
The book not only examines the establishment of Israel as a colonial project met with Palestinian resistance but also critiques past U.S. policies, including the relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.
While Biden has long identified as a Zionist, emphasizing support for Israel as a Jewish state, his administration has faced criticism from both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Pro-Israel advocates faulted him for withholding certain munitions amid Israel’s recent military actions in Gaza, while pro-Palestinian protesters have accused him of supporting policies they view as harmful to Palestinian civilians.
The shopping trip followed Biden’s public criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his administration securing a 60-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

‘My reaction is that this is 4 years too late,’ said author Rashid Khalidi after hearing Biden was holding the book
The White House has not commented on the president’s book choice or whether he purchased the book himself.
During his Nantucket visit, President Joe Biden spent time with family, enjoying a meal at a local restaurant before attending the island’s Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.
He joined millions of Americans in the Black Friday shopping rush, browsing stores with First Lady Jill Biden and son Hunter.
Biden’s 4-year-old grandson, Beau, played a part in the outing, leading his grandfather by the hand through the cobblestone streets of Nantucket.
The family wrapped up their shopping day at the Christmas tree lighting, where Hunter helped Biden step onto a small platform to take a photo with the children’s choir, who performed traditional carols for the crowd.
The 82-year-old president began his day with a meal at The Brotherhood of Thieves restaurant, a local favorite in the exclusive Massachusetts enclave.
Meanwhile, in Palm Beach, Donald Trump spent part of the day with Elon Musk, his son Barron, and wife Melania at Trump International Golf Club West.
Biden, strolling through the shops, was seen holding hands with Beau and petting a Dachshund, while pedestrians cheered and shouted, “We love you, Joe.”
At one point, Biden posed for a photo with the dog and its owner, with Hunter capturing the moment.

Hunter, who faces sentencing next month for federal tax and gun charges, was seen walking with his wife, Melissa, in casual attire.
As he shopped, Biden briefly addressed reporters, commenting that he was “working hard with the FBI” after several bomb threats and swatting incidents targeted President-elect Trump’s Cabinet picks and Democratic officials.
He also mentioned that he plans to speak with Trump again during the transition.
Meanwhile, Jill Biden was spotted browsing books, picking up a copy of her husband’s 2021 inaugural address, while their daughter Ashley searched for her own Black Friday deals, trying on a headband.
