Those who falsely flogged a wonderful future outdoors EU now unfold lies about inexperienced power
Beware the Brexit snake oil chameleons. They are turning even dirtier and spouting poison against Britain becoming a green energy superpower.
Con artists who falsely flogged a glorious future outside the European Union are today’s fossil fools scream-ing against electrifying life. The Kemi Badenochs and Nigel Farages – ever eager to change the conversation from Brexit-induced poor growth, bigger bills, falling trade, record migration and longer passport queues – are diverting attention by suddenly scapegoating net zero.
Cheaper, cleaner, secure, sustainable and renewable energy is for them the new EU bogeyman. The Brextremists were demonstrably wrong about our European exit and they’ll be proved false prophets, too, about renewable power.

Electric vehicles are their latest battleground. The whole world is driving into the future with the market for petrol and diesel cars and vans declining.
Unfortunately some UK manufacturers, including Sellantis at the Vauxhall plant in Luton now earmarked for closure, were slow to innovate and invest. The inconvenient truth ignored by the Brexit anti-green dinosaurs has been revealed by the Bedfordshire factory’s former boss, Mark Noble.
He insists “troubles began with Brexit” itself by creating uncertainty over exports which comprise 80% of output from Luton and its sister Vauxhall plant in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. Labour Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds rightly recognises punitive £15,000-a-pop sales penalties – inherited from his predecessor Badenoch – require reviewing.

But going backwards by abandoning targets for new cars from 2030 to be hybrids or electric would be waving a white flag to ideologues. These prehistoric monsters have the same mindset as those in the past who objected to scrapping men walking with red flags in front of early automobiles.
Building Britain into a green energy superpower is one of five missions Keir Starmer will hammer home this week alongside boosting economic growth, cutting crime, reviving the NHS and expanding opportunity. Eco socialist Ed Miliband was a low- watt Labour leader but is shining brightly as Energy Secretary.

Whitehall mandarins acknowledging he’s a capable minister and experts are impressed at his grasp of the brief. EU haters distorted reality to bring us a disastrous Brexit. Now they’re at it again, trying to rubbish the greener future.
They must not be allowed to succeed. Going forward is crucial to Britain’s prosperity, not to mention the environment and protecting the planet from a climate nightmare. Let’s hope it’s once bitten, twice shy and the snake oil peddlers suffer their own car crash second time around.
