Erik ten Hag ‘shortlisted’ for function as ex-Man Utd boss might be set for Jurgen Klopp reunion
Erik ten Hag could be offered a swift return to management by a Champions League club.
Ten Hag’s disappointing tenure at Manchester United ended after a loss to West Ham United in late October, and he was replaced by Ruben Amorim.
However, Sky Germany reports that Ten Hag is being considered as a potential replacement for Marco Rose at RB Leipzig, should the club decide to part ways with him. Rose, who took over at the Bundesliga club in 2022, has been under increasing pressure following a six-game winless streak across all competitions.

His team last tasted victory on October 28, and have lost three of their last four league matches, including a crushing 5-1 defeat to Wolfsburg on Saturday.
If Leipzig do decide to sack Rose, Ten Hag would face competition from Roger Schmidt, who has previously worked under the Red Bull football group at sister club Red Bull Salzburg.

However, the report suggests that Schmidt is not keen on taking up a role mid-season and would prefer to wait until the summer.
This could pave the way for Ten Hag to make an earlier than expected return to management, with Leipzig’s upcoming cup tie against Eintracht Frankfurt likely to be crucial for Rose’s future.
Leipzig’s silverware dreams this season are hanging by a thread, with the DFB Pokal being their only real shot at glory, as they lag nine points behind Bayern Munich in the league and Champions League victory seems out of reach.
They’ll be taking on Eintracht Frankfurt in Leipzig come Wednesday night, reports the Express.
Interestingly, a move to Leipzig could see a frosty reunion with former foe Jurgen Klopp. RB Leipzig come under the Red Bull GmbH umbrella, with the parent company appointing Klopp as their head of global soccer in the autumn.
