Tesco, Waitrose, Lidl and Aldi reveal Christmas opening hours – see the complete listing

The majority of the UK’s main supermarkets have finally revealed their Christmas period opening hours. Aldi and Waitrose bosses were the first to confirm they’re shutting for three days over the holiday season, and Tesco’s bosses told the Daily Star that only one day of the period will see all stores shuttered.

Although some larger stores will be extending their opening hours in the week before Christmas, with petrol station hours also varying around the country, it appears as though they will be remaining open as long as possible, with a return to action quicker than most other competitors confirmed, too.

Aldi’s bosses confirmed that all staff will be taking two days off over Christmas, meaning their stores will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The stores will re-open on December 27, with opening times expected to be extended in the run-up to the big festive day.
