‘I’m blowing £20k on children at Christmas to atone for grandad’s Matt Le Tissier’s absence’
The daughter-in-law of Matt Le Tissier is spending fortunes on her kids this Christmas – to make up for the former footballer’s absence.
Alex Le Tissier used to rely on second hand presents and family handouts this time of year. But this time she has splashed out £20,000 on a Disneyland trip and presents.
The mum-of-four said she was going all out so her little ones won’t ask about why Matt Le Tissier is not around.

Alex is married to his son, Mitch, but a bust-up ensued after she turned to modelling on a subscription site during the pandemic to drag her family out of crippling debts.
The former Southampton legend reportedly accused of being a “bad mum” for her career choices and they have not been on speaking terms ever since.
And revealing her festive plans, she told the Daily Star: “I am spending the most I have ever spent at Christmas time. I have paid for a £10,000 trip to Disney so we will be in Disneyland Paris for Christmas Day with my family and then in total I’ve spent £10k on gifts for the whole family.
“I feel bad that with my in-laws not being involved in my children’s lives I have to go above and beyond with gifts so they don’t miss out.”
Asked to expand on the rift with Le Tissier and how it impacts special occasions, she said: “It makes me mad that they would rather be bitter and take it out on innocent children by not being involved in their lives.
“I think that it speaks volume on their character and it’s something that my children will have to digest when they grow up.
“It’s their loss and genuinely they [kids] are some of the greatest people that have ever graced their lives and they are missing out. So I like to go over the top at Christmas time so my children won’t ask any questions or think about them.”
The cash-happy model used to get down during Christmas because she would spend weeks worrying about having enough money for presents and food.
She relied on other family members chipping in and during the Covid-19 pandemic she considered using food banks to feed her children.
Since then she has risen to fame and she explained why she had no problem with boasting about her extravagant Christmas plans during a cost of living crisis.
Alex, whose husband previously said he would be ‘dead’ if it wasn’t for her job, concluded: “I’ve seen people complaining about others spending too much money at Christmas but I’ve worked really hard and people are just jealous.
“I’m so proud of myself and I love that I can give my children the life they deserve. I think as someone who used to be broke I would say if Christmas triggers you that much you need to put money away through the year.
“I don’t see people complaining about not giving their children gifts throughout the year on their birthday but it seems to be a pity party at Christmas time.”
