Ebanie Bridges beloved carrying G-string as ring lady ‘making greater than fighters’
Ebanie Bridges, these days, is one of the superstars of the boxing world.
However, that wasn’t always the case. The Blonde Bomber, 38, grew up loving combat sports in her native Australia.
But with female fighters banned Down Under at the time, her route came via being a ring girl. “I enjoyed it. I loved it,” Bridges exclusively told Daily Star Sport about her time holding a ring card.

She continued: “I started it because I loved combat sports, and I was training but I couldn’t fight because in Australia it was illegal for women to fight in the ring, so that was my way to get paid, to sit ringside to the fight, to be in the ring and enjoy the night. I loved it.”
And it wasn’t just the ringside seats to her favourite sport Bridges loved. The future world champion was a competitive bodybuilder and she used the platform to show off her chiselled physique.

She said: “I was bodybuilding, at the time, so I was just being on stage and posing in my G-string. Back in my day, because we’re going back 18 years ago, So I started when I was 18, and I did it all through my 20s. The last time I held a card was 10 years ago.
“Back when I did it people weren’t so stiff, you know, and I used to be in full-blown G-strings, and bikinis. Now they just wear little hot shorts and crop tops. But back when I did it was full on G-strings.
“I know some of them wear dresses even! It was a bit, different back then. The main stick you get is from people, from women, who are trying to fight for your rights like that, and will probably never do it!
“I mean? It’s our job, like we want to do it. We love it. I used to make more than some of the fighters…well probably a lot of the fighters to be fair!”
Inside the ring, Bridges has made her fortune and fame, winning the IBF Female Bantamweight World Championship. She lost the title to Miyo Yoshida last December, but is looking to claim gold again – after a well-earned break from the fight game.
That’s because she’s soon to become a mum, with the pregnant fighter revealing to Daily Star Sport that her baby is due early next year. However, boxing remains an itch that needs to be scratched, adding that once she’s given birth she’ll “be looking to get back in the ring and hopefully get some belts back!”
