It’s the calm earlier than the storm as Darragh will arrive tonight — right here is what to anticipate
The UK is bracing for Storm Darragh to arrive as the Met Office issues an amber warning which means potential “danger to life”.
Here is what to expect for the weekend as the storm comes in.
Friday begins chilly, but the sun will come out and it will be dry in most places. However, throughout the day, especially in the west, the rain will begin to set in.
Clouds will begin to build and then the wind will begin and by Friday night, Storm Darragh will be here and “widespread gales” will start.
Saturday will be wet and extremely windy as the gales continue, particularly in the west. It is expected to snow in Scotland.

As the storm passes through, it will be warmer.
The winds will ease as the weekend ends but there will still be showers and blustery winds and the temperature will drop.
After the storm, going into next week, there will be mist and fog due to the high pressure – but Monday will see far less rain, far less wind and a far better outlook.
Maybe Mondays aren’t so bad after all.
