Simone Biles reveals the exercise she has vowed by no means to do once more as gymnast returns to train after Olympic success
Simone Biles may be an Olympic legend but there’s one workout that even she struggles with.
The gymnast won three golds – in the team event, all-around and vault – and took silver in the floor exercise after losing to her Brazilian rival Rebeca Andrade by the slimmest of margins when she returned to the Olympic stage in Paris this summer.
And after yet another summer of success and gymnastic tour, the 27-year-old rightfully has taken a well-deserved break.
Biles revealed she worked out for the first time since the Paris games this week but admitted its likely the last time she’ll be trying out that particular workout.
‘First time working out since the olympics,’ the gymnastic icon wrote on her Instagram story Wednesday.
‘This is what I wore to a Pilates class that I will never be attending again! Y’all stay strong out there lmao. It was too hard.’

Pilates – names after Joseph Pilates who is credited with developing the exercise – can vary in exercises but often involves reformer machines which feature bands and movable benches.
The exercise focuses on movements to help improve flexibility and build muscle strength, particularly in the core, lower back and legs.
Biles’ success in Paris marked a truly triumphant return after she suffered with the ‘twisties’ in Tokyo.
She stunned the world when she withdrew from the Tokyo Games with a mental block that made it dangerous to perform her high-flying routines.
But she completed a stunning comeback in the French capital with husband Jonathan Owens cheering her on from the stands inside the Bercy Arena.
Since returning Stateside, Biles had been performing in the Gold Over America tour, which wrapped up on November 3, while Owens kickstarted the NFL season with the Chicago Bears.
Since finishing the tour around the United States, Biles has spent time cheering on her NFL beau at games and making star-studded appearances, such as a red carpet arrival at the Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee last month.
But Biles hasn’t ruled out another Olympics, which will return to Los Angeles in 2028, marking the first time since the 1996 Atlanta games that the Summer Olympics have come to the United States.
‘Never say never. The next Olympics is at home. So, you just never know. But I am getting really old.’
