Tesco employees reveal how typically Sainsbury’s meals leads to their shops and the place it goes
It appears as though man own-brand products from major supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s are all made in the same factory and often end up being sent to the wrong stores
A Tesco staffer has revealed what happens when products from rival supermarkets end up being delivered to them. A thread on Reddit caused chaos when it emerged that a box of Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference chunky triple cooked chips was mixed in with a delivery to a Tesco store.
A four-second video of the delivery – containing six packets of the chips – on a Tesco pallet was posted on the social media site by someone claiming to be a “night shifter”. Having posted the video, the person was then asked what happened to them, it emerged that there were three boxes in total and that they were handed out to staff.
The comments were then flooded with others claiming to be staff at various supermarkets who divulged that the issue happens on a regular basis.

One posted: “Made in the same place as Tesco products, packed onto the wrong pallet, ends up at the wrong fresh depot, ends up at the wrong store. On the plus side we’re usually allowed to just take things like this home for free.”
A second wrote: “The Tesco I used to be at got Sainsbury’s milk more often than I care to admit.” And a third confessed: “The Sainsbury’s I currently work for (I’m ex-Tesco) often gets Tesco milk! Just adds to the spice of life!”

A fourth, who appeared shocked to learn that some brands are made in the same factories as supermarket-own brands, wrote: “I opened a case of microwave rice once that was supposed to be one of the premium ‘world foods’ brands of basmati, and it had 3 packs of Sainsbury’s own brand basmati mixed in. I wasn’t sure whether it made me doubt their premium claim, or if I should switch to Sainsbury’s premium in disguise own brand rice.”
So, dear Daily Star reader, the next time you pop to the supermarket to buy your favourite brand of a specific food, maybe just get the own-brand instead – it’s all the same stuff, apparently.
