BREAKING Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp down after enormous Meta outage

People have been unable to use apps like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp after a massive Meta outage.

Website Downdetector, a site monitoring such issues, showed large spikes for Facebook and other Meta apps.

Social media users have raised the issue and Facebook reportedly first starting having problems at 6pm today resulting in more than 100,000 complaints.

The Website Downdetector also reported that almost 12,000 users were having issues with Instagram too – another app operated by Meta.

The hashtag #facebookdown is also trending on X with one user joking: “Elon messing up Facebook and Instagram so everyone can come back to Twitter.”
