Luigi Mangione has been dubbed the ‘scorching murderer’ and ‘boy of the month’ by twisted followers
The serious case of assassin Luigi Mangione has been infiltrated by online users claiming the man is ‘too hot to be guilty’ after he was denied bail for being too aggressive
Luigi Mangione, 26, was declared a person of interest ‘in the brazen targeted murder of Brian Thompson, CEO of United Healthcare’ and was later confirmed as being charged with the murder.
However, things have taken a dark turn with the suspected murderer being turned into an object of affection for several twisted social media users. The former Ivy League University student, who was born and raised in Maryland, was initially taken into custody first on firearm charges after Thompson, 50, was killed walking alone to the Hilton last Wednesday. The CEO had been at a nearby hotel prior to his arrival for a conference from UnitedHealthcare’s parent company, UnitedHealth Group, police said.
Just hours later, Mangione was charged with the murder – having been found by police inside a McDonald’s with the murder weapon where a customer recognised him from READ MORE: ‘Shooter’ Luigi Mangione goes ‘ballistic’ outside court as ‘motive’ revealed

In particular, Mangione’s mugshot has made the rounds on Instagram, X, Facebook and TikTok. In the photo, he simply stares at the camera in an orange jumpsuit, but this is enough to make several admirers swoon.
Some fans said the mugshot showed off his “Italian good looks,” while others dubbed him the “hot assassin.” What was a highly-strung murder case appears to have transformed the suspect into a heart throb.
Mangione’s Instagram account, which had not been used since 2021, has seen a flurry of activity since his arrest was first announced. His followers jumped from fewer than 1,000 to over 27,000 in just days.
The comments have also been rolling in, with several calling for his release or claiming his good lucks is enough to qualify him as not guilty. “He’s too fine to be guilty,” one user quipped, while another added: “Where’s the GoFundMe to free Luigi?”
The song Criminal by Britney Spears, which features the lyrics “Mama I’m in love with a criminal,” has also gone viral on TikTok. Several users have created videos of Margione’s mugshots to the song.

X users have also been flooding their pages with admiration. One wrote: “It’s been confirmed the suspect is in fact hot, please free Luigi Mangione. Even if he did it…he didn’t.” A second simply added: “New boy of the month.”
Some of his fans even created a GoFundMe page to help source money for his legal team. The page, created to help his supposed “hardship” garnered a few healthy donations before the fundraising company blocked and shut the page down.
They released the statement: “GoFundMe’s Terms of Service prohibit fundraisers for the legal defence of violent crimes. The fundraisers have been removed from our platform, and all donors have been refunded.”
Mr Mangione will face trial in New York over the coming months. He was denied bail for a second time on Tuesday after prosecutors said he was too dangerous to be released.
