World Cup announcement chaos as Gianni Infantino embarrassed and occasion a farce

The official announcement from FIFA that Saudi Arabia would be hosts of the World Cup in 2034 erupted into chaos today.

Saudi would have been waiting for this moment for a long time. The day that they were announced as World Cup hosts. But it was tainted by technical issues whilst the news was being delivered live on air.

The show was being broadcasted live from Zurich. A technical issue happened when they cut to a speech being made from Asuncion, Paraguay. However, when the broadcast was flicked back to the FIFA President, sat alongside FIFA general secretary Mattias Grafstrom, viewers were left in a realm of silence.
