NATO chief makes grim WW3 prediction and claims ‘we’re not prepared for what’s coming’

Mark Rutte warned Europeans needed to restore Cold War defence spending to stop war hungry Mad Vlad in his tracks – as he prepares for ‘long-term confrontation’ with Ukraine and Europe

NATO must prepare for war with Russia or collapse under pressure from Mad Vlad, the alliance’s chief has warned. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte urged member states to “turbocharge” defence spending as he claimed “we are not ready for what is coming”.

NATO members agreed to spend 2% of GDP on defence but Mr Rutte said this needs to increase to more than 3%. The UK currently spends 2.3% on defence.

In his first speech to Brussels, the newly appointed Secretary General said we need to shift to a “wartime mentality”. He said: “It is true that we spend more on defence now than we did a decade ago.

“But we are still spending far less than during the Cold War. Even though the threats to our freedom and security are just as big – if not bigger.

“During the Cold War, Europeans spent far more than 3% of their GDP on defence. With that mentality, we won the Cold War.

“Spending dropped after the Iron Curtain fell. The world was safer. It is not anymore,” he added.

“Russia is preparing for long-term confrontation. With Ukraine. And with us.

“Hostile actions against Allied countries are real and accelerating. Malicious cyber-attacks on both sides of the Atlantic. Assassination attempts on British and German soil.

“It is time to shift to a wartime mindset. And turbo-charge our defence production and defence spending. We are not ready for what is coming our way in four to five years.

“Danger is moving towards us at full speed. We must not look the other way. We must face it.”

After Russia launched a full scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, NATO members agreed to set defence spending limits at 2% – which many states are not abiding by. Meanwhile, Russia is currently spending 6% of its GDP on defence as they make gains in Ukraine.

It comes as a psychic dubbed the ‘Living Nostradamus’ has revealed that he thinks World War Three is coming sooner than we think – but perhaps not in the way we’d expect.

Athos Salomé has made a few predictions regarding the on-going tensions around the world. He has previously suggested there might be a war coming over the next year.

Currently, the world appears to be creeping closer to war, with battles in the Middle East and Russia, with increasing Western involvement. However, Salomé has hinted towards a battle of technology, rather than on the field.
