Anthony Joshua returned to the hospital he was born in this week to spread some Christmas cheer among sick children.

The two-time world heavyweight champion visited the Kids Starsh ward at Watford General Hospital. Joshua spent a couple of hours meeting patients and staff as well as handing out gifts as part of his work, Clean Hearts Community, the community-interest company he set up dedicated to uplifting the local community.

‘AJ’ was joined by Santa Claus on his rounds as he sat and spoke with some of the children on the specialist ward.

He said: “Today was all about trying to put smiles on a few faces and to acknowledge the tireless work of all NHS staff across the entire nation. I met some amazing kids and some inspirational parents.
