What the complete moon means for YOUR star signal: Why astrologers are warning to ‘conceal away’ this weekend for the ultimate lunar occasion of 2024
The final full moon for 2024 is almost upon us and according to astrologers it will bring overwhelming waves of stress and introspection with it.
The ‘Cold Moon’ will rise over Sydney at 8pm on Sunday but people could already be feeling its power, intuitive astrologer Rose Smith told FEMAIL.
Ms Smith said the final full moon of the year typically offers an opportunity for reflection but because it is appearing in Gemini, on the last day of Mercury Retrograde things could feel a lot more intense.
‘Gemini is known for multi-tasking, but December’s full moon could result in scattered thinking, confusion and upheaval if you don’t allocate your time and priorities appropriately,’ Ms Smith said.
‘Our relationships, communication and internal dialogue will be put under a magnifying glass – so it’s a perfect time to check in on your emotional health with the traditionally hectic and family-oriented Christmas season upon us with emotions tending to run high.’
She said it is important to harness the power of the moon in a positive way.
‘Keep your emotions in check,’ she said.
Ms Smith, who also runs Absolute Soul Secrets, the largest psychic network in the southern hemisphere, said Gemini is a mutable air sign known for its versatility, curiosity, communication skills, creativity, intelligence and sense of humour.

‘During a Gemini full moon, there may be increased interest in events, opportunities, and relationships that encourage you to adapt to various situations and become more curious about the happenings around you,’ she said.
‘It may be a perfect time to plan a short trip and take part in spontaneous experiences and meaningful conversations with friends, strangers, and particularly family.’
Ms Smith said there would likely be real effects for all star signs during the Cold Moon, but especially for mutable signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
Other air signs Libra and Aquarius will also strongly experience the moon’s force, with air sign traits of curiosity, rapid fire thinking, and inspiration in focus.
Ms Smith said full moons also represent culmination, release and manifestation in astrology.
‘December’s full moon is the last full moon before the new year, so its timing is perfect for releasing what’s happened in the past,’ she said.
‘The moon likes privacy, so it’s important to have plenty of solo time, space in your own home, and make sure you are comfortable, safe and secure.’
‘Reflect on achievements and disappointments this year, and all the lessons you have learned.’
Full moons have special names based on the environmental conditions around them during the time they occur.
In the northern hemisphere, the full moon in December is known as the Cold Moon to mark winter.
Pisces need to connect with their loved ones
‘The Summer Solstice occurs once a year when the sun’s track across the Australian sky reaches its highest point. It has the most daylight hours of any day in the year,’ she explained.
‘The Summer Solstice serves as a reminder to look inwards and focus on growth. The energy planted in the Spring can in turn reach full bloom. It’s time to find the balance between looking within and dealing with the external world.’
The full moon will reach its peak on 15th December at 8.01pm AEDT.
