Gregg Wallace says ‘I’m f****d’ and tells buddies he thinks MasterChef will sack him
Gregg Wallace is reportedly feeling a huge amount of pressure amid allegations of sexual harassment and groping and the MasterChef host fears he’ll lose his job
Gregg Wallace has reportedly told pals he thinks he’s “f****d” and fears he’s going to get the sack from his MasterChef role.
It comes amid a review into the 60-year-old over alleged sexual harassment and groping claims. Several women have come forward about his alleged behaviour, resulting in an official investigation.
It has reportedly been confirmed by the BBC that the cooking show will air for at least another four years, however. MasterChef’s future had been questioned after host Gregg Wallace stepped away from the show following the complaints against him.
The TV presenter has been accused by 13 people of making inappropriate sexual remarks across several shows over 17 years. He decided to step away from his role for the time being.
Now it’s been revealed by a source that Gregg feels he has “lost everything”. The source told the Sun, “To put it bluntly, he’s told people, ‘I’m f***ed’.
“He came out swinging but he has quietly conceded that he knows his time on MasterChef is over and that he will be stepping aside. He has contested the sexual allegations and insisted any jokes he made were just jokes. He said he never meant to cause any offence.”
They added that Gregg has been under a “huge amount of pressure” since the allegations and is trying “his best” to “fight his corner”.
It was confirmed last month that Gregg would be temporarily stepping down from hosting MasterChef after a number of accusations regarding his behaviour emerged. A growing number of female celebrities have spoken out, claiming he made lewd comments on set.
In the aftermath, Gregg attempted to defend himself saying the comments were coming from “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age”. However, it didn’t sit well with many social media users, with some accusing him of “misogyny”.
He later apologised for his initial comments. He said: “I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people.
“I wasn’t in a good space when I posted it. I’ve been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion.”
