Mum killed carrying Christmas presents with ‘blood in all places’ is called and pictured

Lin Donnelly was reportedly carrying Christmas presents with witnesses describing how they were strewn across the road in the aftermath of the crash in Merseyside

A mum who was killed while out Christmas shopping has been named and pictured following her death. Lin Donnelly, 72, died in a road traffic collision in Merseyside earlier this week.

Reportedly holding Christmas presents at the time, one witness described there being “blood everywhere” following the tragedy. Tributes have now been paid to the mother whose death has meant “unbearable loss” for her loved ones.

Emergency services were called to Brewster Street at 7.45pm following a collision involving a blue Ford Focus and an elderly pedestrian. She was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

In a moving tribute, her family said: “Words can’t describe the pain in our hearts at the unbearable loss of you. Our life will never be the same without you.”

The police confirmed that the driver of the car stopped at the scene. According to reports locally, the woman had been out Christmas shopping at the time.

A couple who witnessed the incident told the Liverpool Echo that “bags and Christmas presents” were strewn across the road with another describing seeing “blood everywhere.”

Chief Inspector Andy Foster, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. We are also appealing to any motorists who may have dashcam footage to get in touch. The woman’s family has been informed and are being supported by officers.”
