Reeva Steenkamp’s mum sends chilling warning to Oscar Pistorius’ new girlfriend
The ex-Paralympian Oscar Pistorius, who was jailed for shooting his girlfriend dead in his South African home, has bagged himself another one just months after leaving prison
Oscar Pistorius’ new girlfriend has received a stark warning from the mother of his victim – and she warned that Pistorius allegedly still suffers with anger issues.
The ex-Paralympian runner, 38, amassed nine years behind bars for brutally gunning down his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in a shocking Valentine’s Day murder at his South African home. He recently walked free and has managed to bag himself a new blonde girlfriend. However, the grieving mother of Reeva has spoken out against Pistorius, in the hopes his new girlfriend won’t suffer the same fate.
Pistorius is now is dating Rita Greyling, 33, a business management consultant and a long-term family friend, according to South African newspaper Netwerk24. A source close to Pistorius said: “He is trying to rebuild his life in a low-key way and avoids bars and restaurants and the general public and is flying under the radar.
“He is slowly trying to reintegrate into society but that is being done through families that his family have been close to for decades and is slowly slowly.”
Despite the wish for privacy, Reeva’s mother, June, 78, felt the need to speak out in her daughter’s memory. According to the Sun, she said: “I don’t understand how she doesn’t see a red flag about him because he has not lost his temper problem.
“He was supposed to be under anger management when he was in jail and at one stage I stopped him coming out because I was annoyed that he wasn’t having treatment. He was angry – and he still has a problem with anger.”
She warned: “He’s still a danger to women. Reeva only knew him for three months and she was dead and he’s never confessed.”
Pistorius, was nicknamed the “Blade Runner Murderer” for his iconic prosthetic legs, shot his model ex-girlfriend dead through a locked bathroom door in 2013. He claimed he thought she was an intruder on the property. However, Reeva’s family always thought it was intentional.
It appears Rita has something in common with Pistorius, as she made headlines when Willem Kruger went missing at her brother Ghini’s bachelor party. This body was found nine days later and his death is being investigated as a murder.
Sources say the fact both their families have forced to live in the shadow of murder brought them together. Pistorius’ sentence ends in 2029, and he is currently on parole. Due to the conditions, he cannot commit any more crimes nor contact Reeva’s family.
