Britain’s ‘finest boss’ treats employees to £20k Rolex presents and holidays in Disneyland
Benjy Leslie tried to make sure his employees don’t go without this Christmas, by putting up several expensive gifts on offer, including a Rolex and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Maldives
While most workers expect a tub of Celebrations at best from their bosses, one manager has blown expectations out of the water.
From luxury holidays to expensive watches, Benjy Leslie, 25, likes to make sure he looks after his staff which he believes increases motivation throughout the year. Being the CEO and founder of Connect Management – the largest social-first talent agency – he appears to have a vested interest in treating his staff well. This includes taking his team on holidays to places like the Maldives and Disneyland Paris.
Benjy also spent £20k on gifts for his ‘Santa Leslie incentive’ where the team member who has made the highest revenue that day gets to pick out a present. It wasn’t the average gift voucher, either, as they ranged from Celebrations, Lego, headphones and a Rolex watch.
But Benjy believes it’s all “worth it” to have happy staff and a positive work environment. Benjy, from Willesden, London, said: “I love giving back.
“Business owners sit on huge amounts of profit. For me it’s about sharing my gratitude. I have got a really happy work force – with 89% staff retention. We wouldn’t have profits if the staff were not happy.”
Benjy has seen great financial success since he started his business in 2019, and now he wants to share it with his team. He said: “I took them all to the Maldives for the first year of the business doing well.”
The entrepreneur runs a monthly tombola, where he gives away an expensive holiday every month. It is said to cause a huge buzz of excitement among his employees, which is filmed a shared to TikTok.
Benjy makes his team come in every single day to the office because he says working from home is “lonely” and “less productive”. In return, he aims to make a fun working environment and makes someone bring in a game every morning to enjoy.
He said: “They bring a game and that brings the energy in the morning. On a Friday afternoon we do gratitude. Each person has to say something to someone that they are grateful for.
“It’s just a reminder – it’s such a fast paced world we live in and people need to be shown thanks.”
Recently Benjy also took the team to Disneyland Paris for their Christmas trip. He said: “It was a thank you for everything. “It was magical.”
