I’m the ‘hero’ barber buyer who ran out to take down man who was attacking a police officer – I went again to get my hair minimize completed afterwards
The hero barber customer who jumped from his chair to save a police officer has spoken for the first time since going viral – and revealed he went straight back after to finish his trim.
Kyle Whiting was halfway through his haircut when he noticed a police officer being attacked by a man at a bus stop across the road.
The 32-year-old had just dropped his partner at Warrington Hospital after she’d injured her foot, and decided to pop to the barbers as they faced a long wait to be seen.
Visiting the Haron Barber’s in Cheshire for the first time on Tuesday, Mr Whiting had just sat down in the chair when his hairdresser suddenly stopped cutting his hair.
Looking out the window, he saw a man – in a black jacket and grey hoodie – hit a police officer forcing him to the ground.
Without hesitating he ran out of the shop and across the road with his barber’s cape still on to help the fallen officer.
‘At this moment I think s*** better go and help him. There’s no other officers on the scene,’ he told MailOnline.
‘So I literally ran out and ran over, dragged him off, pinned him down, and held the back of his arm and put my knee on his back.’

After pulling the aggressor off other witnesses gathered around to help before police back up arrived just after 11.40am.
Another cop from a marked car parked around the corner then ran over before a second squad vehicle pulled up.
The assisting officers then arrested a 50-year-old man and Mr Whiting walked back into the barbers as a hero as he finished getting his haircut.
He then went back into the hospital where the officer he had just saved was sat next to him and his partner also waiting to be checked over.
‘Once he was detained, I just went back in for my haircut and then went back into the hospital,’ he said.
‘And sat right next to us is the police officer that had just been assaulted.
‘One of the police officers that was on scene sent me a message through messenger as well to say “thank you so much for your support”.
‘Everything happens for a reason. I have never been to this barbers before.
Mr Whiting said he came away from the incident unscathed and put his bravery down to the way he was brought up

‘I spoke to the officer. I double checked he’s okay. I think he just had an injured hand from landing on the floor.
‘He was very grateful, very thankful.
‘It’s just all happens so sudden. It was just an instinct.’
Mr Whiting revealed that his sister is a police officer saying that he would want someone to do the same for her if she was in trouble.
‘You put yourself self in other people’s shoes and if that’s your sister, if that’s your mum, dad or children, would you want somebody to go and help them?,’ he continued.
‘If it was my sister alone without another duty officer, I’d want somebody to be there to protect her to prevent her from getting any serious injuries.’
Mr Whiting said he came away from the incident unscathed and put his bravery down to the way he was brought up.
He said: ‘I was completely fine, I got the guy from the back and grabbed his arm until other support came.
‘I used to play rugby and my dad’s a Millwall fan as well. My dad is like a proper geezer’s geezer.
‘The way I was raised and where I grew up in Kent you learn from a very young age to look after yourself, so to speak.’

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: ‘Officers have thanked a member of the public for his support after an officer was assaulted in Warrington.’
The force confirmed that officer ‘has since been passed to the care of health professionals’.
The officer who was attacked is understood to have suffered a broken finger as well as bruised ribs.
UK Cop Humour, which shared the video, joked: ‘Not all heroes wear capes…but this one does.
‘Can we take a moment to applaud this fella, mid-haircut, but dashing out to aid a copper.
‘Not enough people like you around. Kyle was keeping an eye on what was going on outside, because his sister is a police officer.
‘Upon seeing the single-crewed officer attacked, he dashed out mid-haircut without a thought for his own safety to assist the officer.’
MailOnline has approached Cheshire Constabulary for an update on the incident.
