What does the Winter Solstice imply in your star signal? From ‘get together animal’ Geminis to ‘secretive’ Scorpios

After what feels like eons of eternal gloom, the days are finally going to get longer.

And as the sun in the UK creeps up bit by bit, it signals changes to come in the cosmos – but what does that mean for your star sign?

Speaking to FEMAIL, celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman revealed that the period signals a flurry of partying for some and a cosy, calming down for others.

‘The Winter Solstice is the shortest day, and the longest night of the year. Known also as Midwinter, it occurs on 21 December,’ the expert revealed.

‘It is the end of the vivacious Sagittarius season and the start of the focused Capricorn season.

‘Following that night, the days will start to grow longer, nights will be getting shorter, and a chain reaction of rebirth will come into being.

‘As darkness diminishes and light returns, nature will begin to reawaken.

‘But for now, the darkest day and night are experienced differently by the different signs.’

Here, Inbaal reveals what awaits different astrological signs as the winter begins to thaw…

ARIES

(March 21 – April 20)

You’re a passionate optimist, Aries, and therefore you see the positive in anything, even the darkest part of the year.

For those born under the sign of the Ram, the Winter Solstice is an opportunity to reset, recharge, and blast forward.

The next big Solar event – the Spring Equinox, will be the start of Aries season, and you want to achieve so much before you get there!

TAURUS

(April 21 – May 21)

You enjoy being cosy and warm, away from prying eyes, Taurus, and you low key love the opportunity to curl up at home with an old book.

Those born under the sign of the Bull appreciate the long nights, and can celebrate the earliest sunset of the year at Midwinter.

You know that soon the new year will arrive, with its parties and goal setting and other exhausting things, so for now, don’t mind if you make another mug of gingerbread hot choc.

GEMINI

(May 22 – June 22)

You’re the ultimate party animal, so the entire festive season is your jam, Gemini, and you’ve been bouncing between gatherings and celebrations for weeks now.

Those born under the sign of the Twins have more invitations than they can handle, so the early Midwinter sunset allows them to fit multiple events in one evening.

You absolutely do not mind celebrating through the storms, the rain, and the long dark night, because you’re not looking forward to dry January and the gym.

CANCER

(June 23 – July 23)

Sensitive and family minded, your festive season is a time to catch up with siblings, nieces and aunties, Cancer, and you’d rather do all that at home anyway.

Days, nights and weekends are all the same to those born under the sign of the Crab, as their schedule is determined by the needs of those around them, not by the weather or the calendar date.

The longest night, the shortest night, and everything in between are fine by you, as you bake your famous Victoria sponge for your thankful house guests, rain or shine.

LEO

(July 24 – August 23)

Sunny and positive in your nature, the dead of winter is not your cheeriest time, Leo. You’re literally solar powered, as your planetary ruler is the Sun.

Those born under the sign of the Lion like their days longer and their evenings brighter. They feel more at home at a garden party than a noisy, messy festive event.

Patient and confident, they’ll wait for the mornings to grow sunnier, and for nights to start getting shorter, with great anticipation.

VIRGO

(August 24 – September 23)

Friendly and sociable, you’re happy to celebrate anything, Virgo. If there’s an interesting moment in the natural world, it’s fascinating to you.

Those born under the sign of the Sea-goat are smart and mature, and since your season is just about to begin, others will behave like grown-ups too.

AQUARIUS

(January 21 – February 19)

Those born under the sign of the Fish are susceptible to romantic notions of days gone by, the Winter Solstice feels like something out of an old book or folk tales.

While the days were getting shorter, Pisces notices the earlier sunsets, and now they’ll feel optimistic to see the trend reversed.
