Tesco, Morrisons, Dunnes and Aldi are among the supermarkets issuing ‘do not eat’ warnings over a range of items that are being urgently recalled by the Food Standards Agency

Festive foodies, watch out: Tesco and Aldi are among the big supermarket names to issue emergency recalls on a swathe of treats as they could be “unsafe”.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is behind these alerts, flagging hidden allergens or extraneous material in food items.

If a product’s being pulled, the FSA tells you what to do next and on why it’s getting removed from aisles. Luckily, refunds are usually hassle-free—sometimes you won’t even need your receipt.

Look no further: For those prepping for some cheesy festivities, here’s the news: Dunnes Stores has gone full recall mode for an array of their cheese products over the fear that the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria might be party-crashing, reports the Mirror.

A string of products including the Dunnes Stores Wicklow Blue Brie, Simply Better Irish Brie Cheese and Cranberry Quiche, as well as a selection of other cheese-related items, have been slapped with recalls. They’re yanked off shelves due to health scares.

It’s pure panic for cheese lovers as Dunnes and other brands face a Listeria nightmare.

The Food Safety Authority is sounding the alarm about potential Listeria contamination that could mimic flu symptoms with a nasty side of fever, muscle pain, sickness and, in some dire cases, can cause severe conditions like meningitis.

They’ve dubbed those over 65, pregnant women, newborns, and people with weakened immune systems as at high risk. Bought any?

Don’t risk it – march them back for a full refund, stat!

And in the world of meaty mess-ups: Tesco’s hit a snag with an embarro label blunder, recalling their Ten Cooked Beef Slices that may linger past their prime thanks to a dodgy use-by date tagged as 24 January 2025. Customers, beware – check those slices!

Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

This comes hot on the heels of an issue with Tesco’s Red Cabbage and Apple 300G, which is being yanked from shelves owing to dodgy labelling. These rogue packs have been showing a use-by date of December 29 when they should be shouting out for December 11—leaving punters at risk of scoffing them well past their prime.

In another spicy recall titbit, Morrisons customers better check their cupboards if they’ve been vamping up their dinner with Morrisons Crushed Garlic. The supermarket giant’s announcement has confirmed that their Morrisons Crushed Garlic 75g tubs, donning a best before date of 19.10.

It turns out a vital ingredient’s gone AWOL, potentially messing with stopping bugs from partying it up in the garlic—no one wants that kind of surprise in their stir fry!

Morrisons is saying sorry for ruffling any feathers and chipping into dinner plans, but they’re dead serious about keeping their gear up to scratch for their customers.
