Your worst Christmas presents as lady vows divorce over ‘kitchen bin and canine mattress’

Daily Star readers took to social media to vent over their worst Christmas gifts, including one woman who was so angered by the gifts she received that she’s no longer married . . .

A woman has claimed that she is no longer married to a bloke who got her two very lousy Christmas gifts. After the Daily Star asked readers for their worst gifts, many commented on social media in droves about their poor experiences.

But one reader has bested them all after commenting on our Facebook page about a pair of poor gifts from her now-ex husband.

The woman wrote, when asked about her worst ever Christmas presents: “A kitchen bin, the dog got a memory foam mattress, hence we are no longer married.” She ended her post with a laughing face emoji, so we assume it all worked out for the best . . .

Another reader who took to social media to complain claims she was given “a pair of scales from my husband,” which doesn’t sound as bad as one bloke who claimed he got “Lynx Africa”.

Another wrote, in slightly sobering fashion: “I was married for 25 years (passed with cancer) in all those years not once did he buy me a Xmas birthday anniversary valentine or anything else present. I suppose that could count as the worst present as I got the same every year.”

A fourth said that their best gift – which we didn’t ask for, but cheers for telling us – was a Go Kart, while their worst is “spending it alone”.

And lastly, another claimed that the Christmas message delivered yesterday by Prime Minister Keir Starmer was their worst – which seems pretty odd, considering its not exactly a present.

Another, who was a bit short on specifics, added: “The rubbish I gave my mother-in-law the year before.”

But offering some salient advice was one reader who says she 73-years-old. They wrote: “Never had any kind of present in my whole life from birth I am now 73. So it did not kill me.”
