Chris Kamara has the ‘greatest day’ as he ‘reunites’ with Jeff Stelling for Amazon Prime present
Chris Kamara reunited with Soccer Saturday alumni Jeff Stelling during Amazon Prime’s coverage of Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur on Boxing Day
Football fans rejoiced as Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling ‘reunited’ on TV screens.
Boxing Day’s Premier League action played out on Amazon Prime – and footie fans were in for a late Christmas present as Kamara made a surprise apperance on the coverage.
Stelling has made the move over to Prime after he stepped down from his role on Sky Sports’ flagship show Soccer Saturday at the end of the 2022/23 season. And he has now been joined by Kammy when he was presenting the Nottingham Forest’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
“I have got the best game of the day,” Kamara said when Stelling cut to him. “When Amazon rang me up, I thought they wanted me to deliver parcels but they said the game, YES!”
Kamara took a step back from broadcasting in 2022, as he battled with apraxia – a neurological disorder that affects speech and thought processes.
Opening up about the disorder, he told ITV: “Initially I was in denial. I’m a dinosaur. I suffered in silence for about 20 months and in that time my thyroid gland became virtually non-existent , so that could be the reason for all my problems along the line, by just not going to see a doctor.
“Now not only have I got an underactive thyroid, the apraxia of speech has come on, my balance is no good, I’m really weak.”
He added: “I said ‘the only way I’ll do it [is if] it helps raise awareness for speech issues’, and he said ‘you know I’ll do that!
“I thought, I can tell my story, and I can help other people.”
