After missing out on a white Christmas, Brits could be in for a snowy New Year as forecasts predict snowfall across the British Isles in just a few days.

WX Charts’ weather forecast for January 2 suggests that only one area will escape the impending snowstorm, which could see up to nine inches of snow in the worst affected areas.

The Scottish Highlands and northern England, including Yorkshire, the North East and North West, are expected to bear the brunt of the freezing conditions. Most of England is set to be covered in snow, with between 1cm and 3cm predicted to blanket most of the country.

However, early predictions indicate that the central and west Midlands may avoid the snowfall. According to Birmingham Live, the Met Office’s early outlook describes the Christmas week as “cloudy and mild over the next few days”.
