A high school cheerleader has been charged with torturing an animal after allegedly poisoning a fellow student’s show goat in Austin, Texas.

Aubrey Vanlandingham is facing potentially two years in prison if convicted of poisoning her rival’s goat, six-month-old Willy. Willy passed away in the arms of their 15-year old owner and the mother of the owner has called the event “very traumatic.” Vanlandigham had just been made the president of the school’s Future Farmers of America and was very proud of her pet goat who she paraded across the state for cash prizes and certificates.

However, the prosecutor noted that in her desire to win she turned to evil means – poisoning a fellow student’s goat. When questioned on the alleged poisoning of her rival’s goat Willy, Vanlandigham expressed no remorse and told police: “I don’t like cheaters.”

The teen admitted to cops she had injected the young goat with pesticide from a “poison gun” from the school’s barn facility before the goat subsequently passed away in the arms of its 15-year-old owner.

The girls’ internet history prior to the incident included ominous Google searches, such as: “How much bleach does it take to kill a goat,” “If goats inject bleach do they die” and “poisoning pets, you should know”.

The mother of the owner of the deceased goat has said: “We were there when he passed away. My daughter was actually holding him. So that was very traumatic. We don’t believe there is any remorse there, we hope that she has to serve jail time and gets some type of mental help.

“It’s all bizarre. We want justice to be served, we don’t want a slap on the wrist. We want to make sure she is punished.”

Vanlandingham has reportedly been banned from attending Vista Ridge High school while the case is ongoing.
